Chelsea youngster Marco van Ginkel, who is on-loan at AC Milan, says Essien and Torres are his role models.
But says he draws inspiration from compatriot Nigel de Jong who is at the San Siro.
The Dutchman has failed to make an impact after suffering a career-threatening six-month knee injury.
“My team-mates complimented me after Sunday, it was good for my confidence,” Van Ginkel told Tribal Football.
“De Jong is an inspiration for me, it's wonderful to play with him.”
“[Fernando] Torres and [Michael] Essien are also great role models, I've seen them on TV and now I'm playing with them. They are great players, and also really nice lads,” he added.
