24.11.2014 LISTEN

The Youth and Sports Ministry has approved the Ghana Football Association's decision to appoint Israeli manager Avram Grant as the next Black Stars coach and to lead the national team at next year's AFCON in Equatorial Guinea.

The Ministry gave the GFA the green light to go ahead and name the former Chelsea manager as Kwesi Appiah's successor.

But both camps have remained tight-lipped over the coach's financial package which is rumoured to be a monthly salary of US$ 50,000 and a signing on fee of US$ 200,000.

“The Ghana FA briefed the Minister on how far we have gone with the appointment of Avram Grant and the Ministry actually expressed satisfaction with the way process has gone so far so we are proceeding with the next level of engagement of the coach that is to inform the executive committee of the meeting with the Minister and the meeting that the Federation had with Avram Grant,” said Ibrahim Saani Daara

“Essentially they are happy with it they also have their issues, they had some input to make, which fortunately the FA was already in line and we looked to be heading the same direction with the Ministry.

“We won't be able to tell when Avram Grant will be unveiled but we are conveying an executive committee this week and it is there we will decide.”
