Ghana winger Christian Atsu came off the bench late to play for Everton in their pulsating stalemate with French side Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in France. 

Midfielder Daniel Amartey got on target for FC Copenhagen as they drew away at Club Brugge.

Atsu's last competitive minutes for the Toffees came in the same competition, the 21-year-old Chelsea loanee had played the entire first-half of Everton's 1-1 draw at Russian side Krasnodar.

On Thursday night, manager Roberto Martinez benched the youngster did not bring him on until the 82nd minute when he hooked Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady and replaced him with  Atsu  but his introduction would not alter the fate of the game as it ended 0-0.

Everton remain top of the table with five points from three games.

Elsewhere in Croatia, Rijeka punctured the hopes of Feyenoord after beating Eredivisie giants 3-1 at the Stadion Kantrida. Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker  Elvis Manu  started the game and played until the 82nd minute for Feyenoord.

Attacker  Samuel Afum  watched from the Young Boys bench as the Swiss Super League side silenced Italian giants Napoli 2-0 to enhance their qualification chances.

Romanian side Steaua Bucure?ti were made to work for their 2-1 win over Portuguese side Rio Ave. Midfielder  Alhassan Wakaso  started the game for Rio but youngster  Emmanuel Boateng  came off the bench to play for Rio.

Abdul Majeed Waris played the entire 90 minutes but he failed to score for Trabzonspor who recorded a smooth 2-0 win over Belgian side Lokeren. While youngster  Eugene Ansah  was not in the Lokeren squad for the game, Belgian-born  Denis Odoi  played full throttle for them.

Ghanaian pair of  Anthony Annan  and  Gideon Baah  both started the game for HJK Helsinki who recorded a 2-0 loss against Italian side Torino. Annan was booked in the 49th minute.

Wakaso Mubarak  came off the bench to inspire Celtic to victory against Romanian side Astra. The 24-year-old had been brought on in the 67th minute and he led the charge for his side as they triumphed. Ghanaian midfielder  Seidu Yahaya  started the game for Astra while  Sadat Bukari  was on the bench. Celtic won 2-1.

Daniel Amartey   scored an 89th minute goal and he played full throttle for FC Copenhagen who drew 1-1 with Club Brugge. Danish-born Danish Amankwaa also played on the wings for Copenhagen. He was booked in the 49th minute.
