Ghanaian teen sensation Koby Arthur proved the difference as he dazzled for Birmingham City in their 3-1 win over Millwall in the English Championship on Tuesday night.

The 18-year-old was named in Mark Yates starting line-up for the game at The Den and he proved influential in the game, getting involved in two of the goals scored by the Blues. He lasted until the 74th minute.

Clayton Donaldson and David Cotterill scored twice in the first-half to give Birmingham a 2-0 lead with Arthur fully involved in the sequence that resulted in the goals.

Birmingham recalled the Ghanaian youngster from his loan spell at League Two side Cheltenham Town where he was inspiring their promotion campaign.

But he earned his maiden playing minutes on Monday since returning to Birmingham and he used the game to make a big statement helping them to their first win of the season.

Birmingham manager Yates spoke highly of the Ghana U20 prospect.

“I think he needed it, yes,” he said.
“It is a tough thing when you have played in the first team to constantly play development football. They are good games to play in and good games for pros to get some fitness back and what have you.

“But I think when you go and see Koby – all of the staff have watched him at some stage – in the league, then they're great games for him to go and play in.
