Ghana FA clarify receiving double payments for friendly matches

The Ghana Football Association has discredited the testimony given by GNPC at the Commission of Inquiry that it received double payments for some Black Stars friendly matches

Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Chief Executive Alex Mould claimed his outfit that his organisation made payments for accommodation and transportation to the GFA for some of their friendly games.

But that is incorrect according to the Ghana Football Association.

“It was not every match that the GFA receives payment from organisers or match agents,” Ghana FA's spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie-Daara said.

“Some of the matches we have to pay appearance fee, officiating fees and everything involved.

“So it is not true that, we receive payments for friendly matches and take same from our sponsors GNPC.”
