Death Trap ..... Aziz Describes Accra Sports Stadium

President for the Nationwide Supporters Union of Ghana (NSU) Aziz Haruna Futa has described the Accra Sports Stadium as a death trap. Giving his testimony before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Brazil 2014 World Cup, Aziz pleaded with the lordships to take into cognizance the renovation of the stadium in their recommendations because the stadium has seen little or no renovation since last it was renovated in 2008 for the purposes of the African Cup of Nations.

"My lord I know this Commission is powerful but I'll plead with you to go round this stadium and you will see that the stadium has become a death trap. My lord, some of us we see this place as our home so respectively I wish you do something about it for us in your recommendation," he noted.

"My lord I think it's about time that the government and the entire populace took we the supporters serious because my lord we are also stakeholders in the industry but we are not considered in anything involving the sport. At least when we are involved we can also give our own side of the story," he reckoned.

However, Aziz said the quality of food served for the supporters in Brazil was okay and he did not hear any of his group members complaining about the quality of the food they ate at the camp except that the proximity between town and where the camp was situated was too far and that affected their activities.
