The QATAR 2022 girls village, a project to give future, welfare and social security to head potters popularly known as Kayayei, has launched its website (www.q2022girlsvillage.com ) at the Movenpick hotel in Accra.

The World Cup village at Tampion in the Northern Region is part of the Kunata Voluntary Organization programmes of bringing together needy girls from the three northern regions for a purposeful education and sustainable agricultural ventures called the Qatar 2022 farms.

It is geared towards the generation of income for women and to help curtail the migration of girls from the north to the south of Ghana in search of non-existence jobs with its attendant hardship for these unfortunate girls.

The World Cup project which has teamed up with Togo, Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso Embassies, would offer educational opportunities to needy girls from the said neighboring West African countries where the study of Arabic, French and English would be promoted in cultural exchange programs.

Speaking at the function, the web designer of the project Gabriel Odu Jnr. of Uncle Gem Creatives expressed his delight with the initiative.

President of the Qatar 2022 Girls Village for Africa, Yahaya Alhassan, thanked the diplomatic community for the brilliant initiative

aimed at benefiting women and children.
