Sources close to Kwesi Appiah say the former Black Stars coach was disappointed to have heard news of dismissal on Thursday in the media.
The Ghana Football Association took the decision to cut ties with the former ex-Ghana captain but the news was leaked to the media before a formal meeting with the coach today (Friday).
Appiah was expecting to stay on and work even in the wake of the appointment of a technical adviser.
He had ruled out quitting from the position and feared the financial implications if he decided to tender in his resignation.
But after 29 months in-charge, the Ghana federation decided to part ways with him and pay him off.
Appiah will meet officials on Friday to discuss his compensation fee.
