In a bid to add a professional touch to their operations, Bechem United will unveil their academy in Bechem on September 14 this year.

The initiative, according to Kingsley Owusu Achaw, CEO of the club, is to ensure a sustainable system that will feed the main team as practised by many clubs in Europe.

A high-profile Swedish coach is expected to run the academy, and he is likely to work with Starlets coach Paa Kwesi Fabin, who is yet to firm up a deal with the Bechem-based club.

On the same day, players of the club will be unveiled, which according to the club's CEO, forms part of plans to take the club to the next level.

He told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS exclusively that the club's management has decided to name a stand at its stadium in Bechem after reigning Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP) Augustine Okrah.

'We decided to do this in his honour. There is a particular stand he celebrates after scoring and we want to name that stand after him. He has indeed brought great honour to us, and this is how we want to pay him back for his hard work.

'We want to make a statement to the other players that hard work pays, and that if they also strive for excellence, they will be accordingly rewarded,' he added.

Okrah, currently plying his trade with Swedish side BK Hacken, finished last season's First Capital Premier League as the top scorer after hitting the back of the net 16 times.
