Tema Youth chief Winfred Osei blasts Kwesi Appiah over Adam Kwarasey exclusion
22.08.2014 LISTEN

Tema Youth CEO Winfred Osei has expressed his disappointment over the exclusion of Adam Larsen Kwarasey from Ghana's squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Osei argues that the Stromsgodset goalkeeper is the most active Ghanaian goalkeeper and should have earned a call-up to play Uganda and Togo next month.

It is suspected that Kwarasey has paid the fine for his tirade for his criticisms against goalkeepers' trainer Nassam Yakubu after the World Cup.

There has been no explanation why the 26-year-old was left out of the 24-man squad.

Osei, who is a Ghana FA Executive Committee member, says there can't be any justification for Kwarasey's snub.

“I feel sad. I am disappointed. No one can convince me with any reasons why Kwarasey was dropped from the squad for the two qualifying games,” Osei said.

“Realistically speaking, Kwarasey has been the most active individual amongst all our goalkeepers so why drop him” he questioned the rational behind the dropping of Kwarasey.

“In terms of goalkeeping, we all know he is ahead of all the three goalkeepers because he is more consistent and active than all the three who have been invited.”
