AUG 1, 2014 LISTEN

Tentatively the GFA Congress has been scheduled for 28th August with the start of the First Capital Plus Premier League penciled for 21 September pending the approval of congress.

The Ghana FA have fixed 28 August as the date for congress, where demotion and promotion will be officially declared and other issues affecting the association will be discussed to usher in the incoming season.

This is good news to the clubs, having waited for such a long time for the Ghana FA to announce their programme for the up-coming season.

Congress delayed because of the protest that engulfed the national division 1 middle league zone 1, however after  all issues had been cleared, B.A United secured the last Premier League slot, which is their first in 10 years, hence removing all blockages to permit congress to be held.

The Executive Committee in a two day meeting fixed 28 August as the date for congress and it is there that relegation and promotion is going to be made official to pave way for the commencement of the new season.

Registration of players will start in the second week of August, while 21st September has been proposed for the kick-off of the First Capital Plus Premier League, which is subject to congress approval.

There will also be a seminar for clubs on the Club Licensing System on 27th August with another seminar on electronic registration of players to be done before the start of the season

It was also agreed in the meeting that since Ghana Government spent $3 million on the Black stars during the World cup, they would deduct that amount from the $8 million dollars which will come from FIFA for the Ghana's participation in the mundial and invest the remaining $5 million in colts football.
