Kwabena Kesse, the Chief Executive Officer of Kessben Group of Companies has been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court on Thurday after being accused of illegally transferring $127,931,727.65 to an offshore account. 

The former Kotoko Board and Management member has been charged with two counts of offences, money laundering  and forgery of documents, which he pleaded guilty.

Despite an application by his lawyers for a bail, the presiding Judge, Mr. Francis Obiri dismissed it with the explanation that the suspect is likely to interfere with police investigation if granted bail.

Kwabena Kesse, served under the P.V Obeng led board of Kotoko and was appointed as a member of the three Interim Management Team (IMT) of the club from 2005-06.

He formed his own club called Kessben fc and they secured qualification to the Ghana Premier League in 2007/08 season,

However in the middle of the 2010/11 season, the premier league slot of Kessben was sold to Moses Armah Parker, who then moved the club from Abrankese in the Ashanti Region to Tarkwa in the Western Region and subsequently changed their name to Medeama sc.
