A member of the Executive Committee of the Ghana FA, Fred Pappoe has indicated that the run for the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is not a do or die affair, like some people are trying to portray.

He said this following the circulation of some T-shirts in Kumasi, bearing the inscription, 'We want Randy to rule GFA and the former Vice President of the association  believes the GFA presidency is not life and death affair for people to print T-Shirts in the name of Randy Abbey without his consent.

'I have spoken to Randy about this T-Shirt thing and it seems he is not aware of the people behind it, neither has he contracted some people to do it on his behalf," the Chairman for Gt. Olympics told metro fm

'What I think is, some people are making the GFA presidency be like life and death affair, which shouldn't be the case, but if T-Shirts could be printed in Randy's name without his consent, then it is a serious matter.'

Pappoe added that so many people qualify to vie for the GFA president, but the time is not due, since it is left with another one year to assess Nyantakyi, before going  to the polls.

'I believe that if Randy wants to contest for the GFA president, he can do so and he needs not to hide behind some people because he qualifies to contest under our statues, so as all congress men.

'It is left with a year, so I think Kwesi Nyantakyi can't be assessed to find out whether there should be a change or not,' he said.

The Ghana FA will hold their general elections in 2015 and it is expected that Randy Abbey will contest Kwesi Nyantakyi for the GFA president.

Randy Abbey was the PRO during the first tenure of Kwesi Nyantakyi and is currently an Executive Committee member.
