FIFA has imposed a worldwide ban on Ex-Ghana midfielder Mark Edusei who has already been sanctioned by the Italian Football Federation for match fixing.

On 7 May 2014, the disciplinary committee of the FIGC banned him from all football-related activities for three years and six months in relation to rigging a match in the Italian Serie B in 2009.

The 37-year-old was then playing for Bari, a club he played for just one season before moving to Bellinzona, his last club before retirement in 2011.

It would be recalled that an FIGC Disciplinary hearing chaired by Sergio Artico found club Bari and 20 other players guilty for

manipulating  results in some Serie B matches, that had come to be known as the Bari-Bis betting scandal.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee announced on Monday that it had decided to extend the sanctions to have worldwide effect in accordance with article 78 paragraph 1(c) and article 136ff. of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

Edusei had a bit of a colourful career playing for Serie A sides Sampdoria, Catania and Lecce.

He also had loan spells Torino and Piacenza.
