Worrying scenes: Lille pre-season game stopped as invaders attack players

This was a pitch invasion like never before. Not the one a fan runs unto the football park to hug his hero.

No. This was serious. A group of fans get unto the pitch to attack the players. Some of the players even had to fight back to protect themselves.

Lille's pre-season game against Maccabi Haifa was stopped after 86 minutes of play as protestors reportedly of Turkish origin attacked the Maccabi players.

Lille were leading 2-0 before the pro-Palestinian protesters stormed the pitch to attack the Maccabi players who managed to leave the football park unhurt.
