Red-hot Ghanaian attacker Elvis Manu insists Cambuur are not yet safe from being relegated from the Dutch Eredivisie despite moving to 9th place.
The 20-year-old has inspired SC Cambuur from a relegation-threatened zone to 9th place on the spot and are now in strong contention for a place in the Europa League play-off.
There were massive celebrations at the Cambuurstadion when Manu scored and assisted Martijn Barto to help Cambuur beat RKC Waalwijk on Friday.
But the Feyenoord loanee has reminded Cambuur fans who are dreaming of playing in next seasosn's Europa League that they are not yet safe from relegation.
“We are not safe yet, but we are on the right track,” he said in the post-match interview.
“On the basis of mental toughness we could have not won this contest, it was a real fighting game,” he added.
The turnaround of Cambuur's season has rested solely on the shoulders of Manu who has expressed his interest at staying at the club when hie loan deal expires at the end of the season.
