Midfielder Derek Boateng is seeking a move away from Fulham to aid his bid of making Ghana's squad for the 2014 World Cup.

The 30-year-old has made just three appearances for the Cottagers since his move to the Premier League last summer from Ukrainian club FC Dnipro.

Boateng is eager to be part of the Black Stars squad for next year's World Cup in Brazil.

The ex Getafe man has however not played for Ghana for almost a year as he continue to struggle for first team action at Fulham.

The vastly travelled midfielder now fears his chances of joining the Black Stars team for his third World Cup finals next year in Brazil are getting slimmer by the day as he continues to warm the bench.

Boateng who was brought in by sacked coach Martin Jol is now looking for at least a loan move away from the London-based club to brighten his chances of catching the national team flight to Brazil for the big soccer fiesta.

“It is every players dream to play in the World Cup and I want to go to Brazil to help my national team, (but) I cannot go to Brazil while I continue to warm the bench at Fulham,” he said.

“I was signed by Martin (Jol) and he is no more with us, so I have started speaking to Fulham and hopefully they will understand me and allow me to go on loan.

“Scott (Parker) and the other players are doing well, and I don't think I can be guaranteed a permanent place with the starting lineup.

“I know this request won't cause any problem for both parties.”

Boateng played for Ghana in their maiden World Cup appearance seven years ago in Germany.

He was also part of the Black Stars squad that reached the quarter finals of the last edition in South Africa even though he did not play a single game.
