Head Coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah believes the Senior National team does not solely depend on one player so there is a need to substitute at any time if players are not playing to his tactics or there is a need to change a game plan.
'Most of the time you go into a game and put some players out there to perform. If for some reason you think you want to make a change to improve the game, it is always good that you do it,' he said.
According to Coach Appiah, the AC Milan star is undoubtedly a phenomenal player by all standards but he needed to beef up the team so as Ghana will hold on to its lead.
'Sulley is a good player and he is doing well. I changed him because I thought there were some better players who have been on the bench so I gave them the opportunity to see what they can also do,' the Black Stars coach said in a post-game interview.
Sulley Muntari belittled Coach Kwesi Appiah after being substituted in Ghana's 2-0 away win over Lesotho in a 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers last Sunday.
The AC Milan ace questioned why he was replaced by Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu in the 64th minute.
The AC Milan midfielder refused to sit on the bench with his colleagues and walked straight into the dressing room looking extremely furious.

Mr. head coach, you have no explanation to give to nobody. Kudos to you and the technical team. Its high time these players learn to respect and come to terms with what we call 'team work' in any collective endeavour, such as soccer.
