A select side representing the Black Stars drew three all with 'Friends of Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio' in a charity match played in honour of the legendary coach at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
The game which drew participation from current crop of Black Stars players plus former Stars saw Stephen Appiah, John Painstil, Anthony Annan, Bernard Don Bortey and Godwin Attram all scoring.
The "Friends of Attuqauyefio" featuring the likes of Appiah, Ishmael Addo, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour, Eben Dida, Amankwaa Mireku, Adjah Tetteh and Godwin Attram and among others went ahead thrice only to allow the make-shift Stars to draw parity to end the game in a draw in an exciting game that drew applause from the sizable crowd.
Even though it was the Black Stars who started the game the stronger side, it was Attram who put the 'Friends of Attuquayefio' ahead on the 20 minute mark after finishing off a fine solo move he initiated from the middle that saw him darting later to pick the final pass to put the ball beyond goalkeeper Sammy Adjei.
Six minutes on, Black Stars midfielder, Annan pulled even from the spot before former skipper Appiah stroke just before recess to restore the lead for the 'Friends of Attuquayefio' team.
From the interval, Kwame Quansah leveled for the Stars to send the paltry crowd gingered.
Bortey and Painstil added one each for their sides to end the game which saw the flood lights going off for about 10 minutes during the second half to end the match 3-3.
Some donations were made to the veteran coach, and also to the Ear, Nose and Throat Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching in Accra.
