'We Are Tired Of Banku'

One of the country's finest boxers, Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku, has fallen out with his managers- Golden Mike Boxing Promotions Management.

The boxer is alleged to have exhibited gross indiscipline towards his managers prior to his aborted bout scheduled for May 26 at the El-Wak Stadium.

Further checks indicate that his managers confined him to a special training regiment at Winneba but the boxer failed to make good use of the opportunity, after they had pumped so much money into his training.

He allegedly snuck out from his 'hideout' several times to Accra for merrymaking, defeating the purpose of his hibernation.

Banku and Emmanuel Tagoe's alleged demand for high purses was the reason for their sideline in the upcoming bout.

As a result, the CEO of Golden Mike Promotions, Manley Spain, has withdrawn his services from the boxer, and to match words with action, Banku will not be part of the 'Now or Never' El-Wak world title showpiece.

'We are sick and tired of Banku. We can't continue to support a boxer who doesn't respect himself and the sport.

'If he, however, comes back remorseful we will be ready to work with him. For now, he is not in our plans,' Manley-Spain added.

The two 'prodigal boxers' were on the same bill that will see former World Champion Joseph Agbeko embark on an image redemption mission against Michael Domingo at the El-Wak Stadium, in less than a fortnight.
