C.K Akunnor says Hearts of Oak's win over All Stars has provided the tonic for next week's Super Clash against Asante Kotoko.

Goals from Laryea Kingston, James Abban and a classic by Sadat Karim secured a 3-0 victory of All Stars on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The impressive result moves Hearts to ten points behind Kotoko, but Akunnor believes his side's win has come in handy.

'The win means a lot. I mean the fact that we won the match gives us a lot of motivation, spirits will be high,' the ex-Ghana captain said. 'The boys will start to believe in themselves and the goals were good.'

Hearts have now managed back-to-back wins under the ex Black Stars captain who took over from Serbian Nebojsa Vucicevic who was sacked following a string of poor results.

C K Akunnor says he will be treating their upcoming Ghana Premier League derby against Asante Kotoko like just any other game.

The Phobians are coming to form at the right time ahead of their trip to Kumasi to face Kotoko who are unbeaten in 11 games.

And though a lot of premium is placed on this game by especially fans of the two sides, Akunnor insists no special preparations will be made for the game.

'Yes everyone knows it is a big game but it is just like any other game in the Premier League,' he said.

'We will prepare normally as we do for games just like we did with this one (Sunday's win over All Stars) and hopefully we will get the win there.'

Hearts of Oak despite their impressive 3-0 win over All Stars are still ten points behind leaders Kotoko with seven matches left to go.
