Accra March 18, 2012:
The finals for the Vodafone Business Solutions Corporate Football Challenge was held on Sunday 18th March, 2012 at Lizzy Sports Complex. The two qualifying teams were Tullow and Standard Chartered with Tullow ousting the Financial Giants in a 1-0 goal.
Beating MET Insurance in the quarter finals and L'Oreal in the Semi- Finals, Standard Chartered seemed to be the team highly tipped to win the trophy this year whilst Tullow, who neutralized Stanbic and TOR in the semifinals, took on the role of the underdog.
Edmund Agyeman- Duah who played number 15 was the hero of the day as he scored the only goal for the match, propelling Tullow as the 2012 champions for the Challenge.
At the closing ceremony, Standard Chartered's Joseph Ofori was crowned the Overall Best Player whilst the GoalKing prize went to Oti Ompong.
The competition which started 4 weeks ago with 20 randomly selected teams aimed at encouraging alternative means to working out whilst fostering a networking atmosphere for corporate individuals.
