ROSHA’S ROUTE TO ULTIMATE GOLF DOMINATION

Rosha is on a wild thrill mission; a golf ride that sees him oozing lots of intensity on the golf course everyday. What makes his expectation highly possible is the fact that, he is positive knowing that golf is always immune to the wants and wishes of those who desire for happier endings.

One of such happier endings was the win he recorded at the February Lipton Bi-Monthly Golf Tournament. Smiling contentedly, he received his prize to add to his repertoire of trophies albeit knowing that he has a long set dream; to surge in the game and improve on his handicap to the barest minimum. The aura thereafter at the Tema Country Golf Club was revolving, as even the hardest critic would have conceded that the man fairly in the top billing deserved to walk away with the big prize at the end.

Rosha describes his shots as very intriguing. As much as he can, he manages his shots to the tightest of pin locations. “My shots are quite ok, I mostly cover more than 250 meters distance and this invariably sets my second shots either landing on the green or at the edge thereby making pars comfortably.” At the Lipton event, his round changing approach shots paid off as he sunk two birdies at hole 5th and 16th. Another plus is his ability to control the spin to set up a tap-in putt. He finished the day with a nets score of 67 playing off handicap 15.

Trophies in the game of golf like many other games present a real recipe for fun but to Rosha the fun ends where the next big game shows up. In the year 2011 alone, he chronicled two repetitive wins; second time winner at Unilever 2011 Golf Tourney, three-time winner for Barclays Bank Monthly Medal. He was the diamond in the sky at both the Quartey Memorial Golf and Ghana-Zimbabwe Trade Assoc Tournaments.

The scope of golf embodies wild swings of energy, erratic twists and turns and displays of golf courage. As member of the Tigers Group, Rosha admits that joining the group has deepened his resolution, sharpened his skill on the game and often puts him in the right and positive frame of mind for golf. “We play regularly on every Wednesday and Sunday and the group organizes competitions among its members.” He continued, “Such competitions require that one has to be tough because we play among the best.”

Having played at Celebrity Club, Takoradi and Tema, the electronic expert concedes that, as member of the premier Achimota Golf Club, he enjoys his stints with the club owing to the many activities and sponsored tournaments that the Club organizes. He however proposes that, golf clubs in the country should organize more Social Gathering at the clubs as he believes doing so has the potential to increase their membership.

“There are a number of amazing players in the country, I therefore wish that, membership gets double at each and every club, so that international recognition can be attained.” He intimated.

Currently, the General Manager - Commercial (Electricals) at PZ Cussons Ghana Ltd, Rosha Kanwarjit echoes arguably the number one virtue of golf as he rightly puts it, “be passionate to play golf.”
