The president of African Origin Travels and Sports Tourism Samson Deen has congratulated the new Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) executives on their election into office for a four-year term.
To the African Origin chief, the victory is for Ghana and will offer the country's athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents to the international community.
He revealed in a telephone interview that the election was an ample testimony that Ghana has come of age in terms of democracy, and alleviates the fear of many who hitherto the elections thought otherwise.
'I on behalf of my company wish to congratulate the newly-elected executive board of the Ghana Olympic Committee.
'You have made us all proud. I strongly believe the International Olympic Committee, after banning us, will be proud of us as well.
'But I must say our athletes will be the happiest group. I wish Professor Dodoo and his team the very best as they take on this new challenge. You have not only done yourselves proud, but mother Ghana,' Deen added.
The GOC last Saturday held a marathon election which saw Professor Dodoo, president of the Ghana Athletics Association emerging as the president of the GOC.
