Competition: International Friendly
Teams: Korea -1 Ghana
Venue: Jeonju World Cup Stadium
Date: June 7, 2011
Ghana lose 2-1 to South Korea at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium in an international friendly, Wednesday.
The defeat ended coach Goran Stevanovic's perfect run since assuming the Black Stars' coaching duties in January 2011.
Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan scored in between Korea's both goals after having missed a first half penalty.
The hosts took the lead in the first half through Ji Dong, who headed a corner into the Ghana net through the hands of goalkeeper Richard Kingson.
Gyan missed an immediate chance to equalize when he hit a penalty kick straight into the arms of Jung Sung-ryeong.
However, Gyan was on hand to redeem himself for Ghana when he grabbed a deserved equalizer after 65 minutes.
Sulley Muntari released Gyan and the England-based striker shot low into the Korean net.
But Koo Ja-cheol struck in stoppage time to give the Koreans the win.
Ghana line up
Richard Kingson, John Paintsil, Daniel Opare/David Addy, Jonathan Mensah, Isaac Vorsah, Anthony Annan, Agyemang Badu/Lee Addy, Kwadwo Asamoah/Dominic Adiyiah, Opoku Agyemang/Emmanuel Clottey, Sulley Muntari/Derek Boateng, Asamoah Gyan.
