The Ghanaian football community is in a state of mourning after Kessben FC's Bartholomew Yeboah died after a League game.
The central defender died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Monday after being rushed there during the Liberty-Kessben FC league game at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman.
The 20-year old broke down with seven minutes remaining in the game which Kessben lost 0-4.
Club officials say his situation appeared to have stabilised last night but they were hit with the shock news of his death early on Monday.
Kessben communication director Fred Acheampong told kickOffGhana.com doctors at the hospital have yet to inform them of the exact cause of death.
“It's a massive tragedy and the whole club is in shock. There was no hint he was unwell,” he said.
Opoku has been on the books of Kessben FC for two years.
