BAFFUOR GYAN made his highly anticipated debut for Kumasi Asante Kotoko yesterday but the ex-Black Stars striker's presence on the field could not help the Porcupine Warriors to bag the three maximum points at stake as King Faisal held them to a 1-1 drawn game.

New recruit Gideon Baah's late strike cancelled 10-man King Faisal's solitary lead, scored by World Youth Championship winner Daniel Addo.

King Faisal had themselves to blame for not running away with a vital win which would have improved their poor standings on the table as their front men blew away begging chances in the early stages of the duel.

The worst culprit was Frank Acheampong who failed woefully on countless occasions to convert the decent supplies from petit Enoch Ebo Andoh.

For instance, Frank Acheampong was given a through pass from midfield in the latter stages of the first half but with only goalkeeper Soulemana to beat, the young striker shot wide.

Kotoko too came close to breaking the deadlock but attempts by Baffour Gyan and his strike partner Alex Asamoah who was playing his first match of the season, failed to find the net.

King Faisal jumped into the lead after the break when Daniel Addo capped a brilliant day with a sublime free kick which zoomed straight into the Kotoko net with goalkeeper Soulemana rooted to the goal-line.

King Faisal's Ofosu Mickey who played gallantly on the day was sent off for dangerous play; and his absence had a huge toll on his side, as Kotoko began to dominate the match.

It therefore came as no surprise when Kotoko punished King Faisal in the dying embers of the crunch tie with Gideon Baah's volley finding the net to the delight of home fans.

At Abrankese, league leaders Kessben FC extended their lead on the table by four points when they thrashed visiting Berekum Arsenal 2-0 with Bismark Aidan and Edmund Owusu Peprah as the scorers.

Hearts of Oak's hopes of bouncing back in style suffered a jolt when they fell 2-0 to Wa All Stars at the Wa Stadium.

At Takoradi, reports reaching DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicate that John Antwi grabbed all four goals as Wise struggled to beat visiting RTU 4-3 at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.
