Starlets impress on Qatar tour

Ex-international Frimpong Manso has expressed delight at the transition of the current crop of players to form the nucleus of the class of 2011 Black Satellites team.
The former Asante Kotoko player and coach guided the team to an impresive run in a tour of Qatar. The current Ghana Under-17 team beat the Aspire Academy and a select side before arriving in the country over the weekend.
The current crop of players failed to make it to the recenty concluded Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria but Frimpong Manso is pleased with the Ghana Football Association's grooming exercise.
"I am happy that we came back from Qatar with good resuls but I am particulary thrileld with way the we are moving the players from one level to the other," Manso told Ghanasoccernet.com
''This team should have been in Nigeria but unfortunately they couldn't qualify and so it was important the team was not disbanded but kept.
"This is what many people of us were advocating for and it feels my hearts that we are followwing a systematic approach to the development of the game in the country."
The Black Satellites won Africa's first Fifa U-20 World Cup in Egypt last month.
