Seydou Keita looks set to miss Mali's World Cup qualifier against Ghana this weekend due to an injury picked up during Barcelona's Spanish League win over Real Mallorca on Saturday.
The in-form midfielder has scored four goals in Barca's last four matches.
But he damaged his left knee during the 4-2 victory and, after resting for 24 hours, underwent tests on Monday to determine the extent of the problem.
Following the result of those tests, the club's medical team have advised him to avoid playing for 10 days.
He will continue to receive treatment in Barcelona, seemingly ruling him out of Mali's trip to Ghana this weekend.
Mali have no chance of qualifying for next year's World Cup, as Ghana have already secured top spot in Group D of the African section.
