GLICO General Insurance Company Limited () has presented to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) a cheque for GH¢2000 to honour its promise to the Black Satellites before the team's departure to Cairo, Egypt, for the 2009 FIFA Under 20 Youth Tournament alongside the GH¢200,000 accident cover in Accra.
Presenting the cheque, Mrs. Nyamekye Karikari, Executive Director of Glicogen assured the association that the promise of GH¢5000 made by the company to the Satellites before they left for the tournament will be honoured should they win the cup. She said Glico's prompt response to claims payment to their policyholders, the cornerstone of its business, moved the company to honour the GH¢2000 promise, stressing, “At GLICO, we honour and cushion you when it truly matters.”
Glico, so optimistic about the triumph of the Black Satellites, appealed to Ghanaians to support the team, who are on the verge of writing history.
“Glico General is convinced that the cup is coming home and we put our full support behind the Satellites”, the Executive Director concluded.
