Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi has told Ghanasoccernet there are no plans for an early celebration party should the Black Stars qualify for the world cup after next month's World Cup qualifier against Sudan at home.

Ghana top Group D with nine points can be the first African country to qualify to South Africa if they beat the Nile Crocodiles and hope Benin draw with Mali in Cotonou.

But the Football Association wants to hold on to all celebrations until the last round of matches in November at home against Mali.

"We think that it may be too early now. We were looking at the last match. Even we qualify now, we still have to play the rest of the matches so want to postpone all celebrations still after the final matches are played," Kwesi Nyantakyi told Ghanasoccernet

“We are hoping that the September 6 game will mark the qualification of the Black Stars to the World Cup. We are very confident of winning on that day and also hopeful that Benin will draw with Mali.

“And so we may be the first country to qualify from Africa to the 2010 World Cup and we are very hopeful and looking towards to that.”

20 players invited are expected in Accra early next week to begin preparations for the match at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
