Ghana's Holland-based striker Matthew Amoah has returned to action after a one-month injury-induced absence.

The 28-year-old came on as a substitute in the 66 th minute on Thursday for his club NAC Breda as they were thrashed 6-1 by Spanish side Villarreal.

Villarreal overwhelmed NAC Breda to complete a 9-2 aggregate win to advance in the Europa Cup.

It was the first game for the Ghanaian striker since suffering a hamstring injury over three weeks ago.

Amoah has been handed an invite to play for the Black Stars when they take on Sudan next month.

The Holland-based player's participation in the 6 September game was in doubt because of the hamstring injury.

But Amoah, who is Ghana's leading scorer in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, has recovered and is expected to start the game in Accra.

This is after Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac included him in his 20-man squad to play the Nile Crocodiles.

He is also be part of the squad that will play Japan in a friendly in Holland on 9 September.
