Kumasi, July 24, GNA - Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo,

a mobile telecommunications network, on Friday presented a 52-seater

Mercedes Benz Bus to Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club at the Manhyia

Palace in Kumasi.
The 200,000 dollar air-conditioned bus with sleeping and toilet

facilities was in fulfilment of a promise made to the Club in May, last year.

Nana Ampratwum, the Brand Manager, in a speech at the

presentation ceremony, re-affirmed Tigo's commitment to support Kotoko and

the development of sports in the country.
He acknowledged Kotoko's remarkable achievements through team

work, zeal and enthusiasm and said the Company was proud to be associated

with the exploits of the Club.
The Porcupine Warriors placed second in the just ended Glo Premier

League.
Nana Ampratwum said the presentation was the beginning of more of good

things to come between the two.
Management, old and current players, Chiefs and fans of Kotoko thronged

the Palace, the seat of the Asantehene to catch a glimpse of the ultra-modern

bus.
Madam Helina Cobbina, a member of the Interim Management Committee

(IMC) of the Club, appointed by the Asantehene to run Kotoko said they were

grateful to the Company for its support over the years.

Through Tigo's sponsorship deals, Kotoko had won four trophies.

She said presentation of the bus would now be easier for the management

and players to travel in comfort to honour matches.

Oheneba Adusei Poku, the Akyempimhene who stood in for Otumfuo Osei

Tutu II, the Asantehene and Life Patron of Kotoko, paid glowing tribute to the

old players, administrators and supporters of the Club and asked the present

crop of players to continue to fly the flag of the club high.

He appealed to the fans of Kotoko to patronize products of Tigo and also

participate actively in the Club's programmes and activities.

The Akyempimhene expressed worry about what he said was the tendency

by some people to make false allegations and accusation against the Club.

The Bantamahene, Nana Owusu Amankwatia IV received the keys to the

bus. GNA
