Eight foreign-based were considered called for the game to be played in Tamale that serves as Ghana's warm-up for the World Cup qualifier against Mali.

The Cranes have called up the foreign-based players to ensure that they give the Black Stars a stern test and also boost their place on the Fifa rankings.

Skipper Sekagya (Austria), Dennis Onyango, Hassan Waswa (South Africa), Dan Wagaluka (Tanzania), Geoffrey Massa (Egypt), Eugene Ssepuuya (Serbia), Vincent Kayizzi (Serbia) and Johnson Bagoole (Rwanda) will strengthen the locally-based charges.

FUFA officials said club commitments have made it difficult to invite Obua who turns out for Scottish Premier League side Hearts.

FUFA chief executive Edgar Watson said yesterday that midfielder Tonny Mawejje, defenders Andy Mwesigwa and Nestroy Kizito were also excluded because of club commitments during the same period.

Coach Williamson has called Serbia-based Ssepuuya to step in for KCC FC star Brian Umony, who will miss the encounter.

Umony, and all his KCC counterparts, were left out of the list of 20 players invited for training in preparation for the Ghana trip.

The Lugogo side will then be involved in their second leg CAF Confederation Cup match against Bayelsa away in Nigeria.

Ghana Football Association, who have funded the trip that will take place in Accra May 31, has asked FUFA to line up their strongest team to give the Black Stars a formidable challenge as they prepare for their World Cup qualifier against Mali June 7.

The last time Uganda played Ghana was in a World Cup qualifier in Kumasi in 2005 when the Stars beat the Cranes by 2-1.
