Junior Agogo quits Zamalek

Ghana striker Manuel Junior Agogo has abrogated his contract with Zamalek and reported the Egyptian club to Fifa for breach of contract.

The 29-year-old insists he has not been paid for over five months.

Agogo told Fifa in a letter that there had been several breaches of his contract and efforts to get the Egyptian FA to resolve the issue fell on deaf ears.

"Finally I have reached the limit and I have no option than to leave this club whose management members have been so dishonest," Agogo told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"My lawyers have written to Zamalek abrogating my contract and we have duly reported the club to Fifa over this issue.

"I used all the channels available including the Egypt FA to try to solve the problem with the club they were not helpful.

"I have been not been treated with respect that should be accorded any human being and their actions have been well documented to Fifa.

"The days of unquestioning obedience to the Zamalek board are over and they will answer to Fifa on how they treated me."

Agogo leaves the Cairo giants after enduring a frustrating nine-month spell following a falling out with the club's new management.

He signed a three-year contract under the leadership of Abbas Mamdouh in July last year but fell out with the new board after former club president was ousted.

Zamalek reported on their website on Monday that the Black Stars striker had gone AWOL, but the former Nottingham Forest says the message was designed to deceive the public.

"This is one of the many lies perpetrated by some officials of the club to make me unpopular in the eyes of the public," Agogo told Ghanasoccernet.

"My lawyers wrote to them last week Wednesday informing them of my decision to leave Cairo and report them to Fifa yet they put this out.

"This is just one example of how they have used the media in Egypt to paint me black and because I can't read Arabic they get away with it. Not any more."
