By Kofi Owusu Aduonum - Ghanaian Chronicle

Hundreds of first cycle school children poured onto the streets of Accra last Saturday morning, for a walk towards peaceful elections, come Sunday December 7.

The walk, put together by Great 91.3 FM, attracted children from ten schools and churches, who walked from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle through New Times Corporation, TV Africa, Azumah Nelson Complex, North Kaneshie, Abeka to the premises of Great FM

In her speech, the Director of Great FM, Ms Nina Barkers-Wood, noted, “We are doing this to press home the need for a peaceful election, and a violent-free post-poll activity.”

The 20-year-old Director added, “Let's protect the peace we have in the country now, during, and after the elections.”

She congratulated the children on the exercise.
The hostess of the Great Kids Club program, Benedicta Abekah, one of the organisers, revealed, “We believe advocating peace through children will effectively drum home the message of a violent-free election.”
