THE Korea Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Lee Sang Hak will be the special guest of honour for the fourth edition of the Taekwondo championship christened the 'Korea Cup 2008'.
It is scheduled for the Aviation Social Centre in Accra tomorrow and Saturday, the event will also bring together sporting personalities including the chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC), Prince Oduro Mensah and the president of the Koreans Association in Ghana, Mr Chun Sun Chul.
Mr Charles K. Attah, secretary general of the Ghana Taekwondo Association (GTA) told the Times Sports yesterday that over 140 players have registered for the championship.
Opened to male and female players, they will compete in difference weight categories including finweight, flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, middleweight and heavyweights.
According to the GTA secretary general, weigh-in for the championship will be conducted today at 2 pm to be followed by balloting and technical meetings.
