Kotoko Give Up On Afful

KOTOKO HAS failed in its bid to make Ghana's left full back, Harrison Afful, a permanent member of the Porcupine family. Sylvester Asare Owusu, the CEO of Kotoko, in a radio interview in Kumasi noted that the Ghana Champions have given up the chase for Afful.

Afful's club of origin, Feynord FC's reluctance to release the player to Kotoko, he alleged, has forced the Porcupine Warriors to quit the chase for the intelligent player who became an instant hero after his champagne display for Kotoko last season.

Afful, it would be recalled, shot to instant fame when he joined Kotoko from Feynord FC on a one-year loan deal last season.

His exploits on the field earned him a call-up into the senior national team, the Black Stars where he has been an integral member since.

Following Afful's excellent performance, Kotoko's management anticipated giving him a permanent deal when the season ended.

In a related development, Afful according reports, has emplaned on Tuesday evening to Norway to begin a professional career with Stabaek FC.
