South African Premier Soccer League side, Free State Stars, claim they have parted ways with their Ghanaian coach David Duncan after only three-months in charge.
Duncan is reported to have fallen out with newly appointed technical advisor, Owen Da Gama and also assistant coach Sammy Troughton.
"Duncan says he doesn't work in such an environment. So at this stage we have had a verbal agreement with him that he is leaving,"Rantsi Mokoena, Stars' brand manager told Kickoff.com
"David left the club on Friday. He told us that he cannot work with Owen, or under anybody for that matter, but as a club we are standing by with what we have done because Owen's appointment was relevant."
When contacted,Duncan,was cagey about the issue and sounded he was still charge at the club.
"You can get confirmation from the club. I am still here, so I wouldn't say yes or no at this stage about whether I am still the coach or not," Duncan said on Monday morning.
"Look, I am at the Stars office at the moment so can we talk later,"he said before dropping his cellphone.
Two Ghanaian players who joined Duncan at Stars;Jonathan Mensah and David Telfer,are also likely to be released.
