Joseph Awinongya of Ghana will fight 2000 Sydney Olympian Michael Bennett of Chicago in a six-round cruiserweight bout. This is an undercard to the main fight IBF featherweight champ Frankie Toledo to fight former three-time world champ Manuel Medina on Nov. 16 International Boxing Federation featherweight champion Frankie Toledo of Newark, N.J., defends his 126-pound title in a 12-round bout against former three-time world champ Manuel Medina of Mexico on a nationally televised Cedric Kushner Promotions card Friday, Nov. 16, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino.
This is a rematch of a non-title fight that took place 18 months ago at Las Vegas in which Medina-now ranked No. 1 by the IBF--took a 10-round decision over Toledo.
Also on the card, which will be televised by ESPN2, will be Tokunbo Olajide of Vancouver, B.C., against Richard Karsten of Pleasant Hill, Calif.
The card starts at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific) with doors to the Mardi Gras Ballroom opening at 5. The first television fight is at 6 with the Toledo-Medina, 12-round world championship main event starting at approximately 7.
Tickets, priced at $20, $30 and $45 with all seats reserved, are available at the Orleans box office from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets also can be purchased by calling (702) 365-7070 during those days and hours.
