League Round-up: Akwafo’s late equalizer denies Liberty

A 90th minute heart-stopper from Asante Kotoko's budding schemer, Francis Akwafo denied Liberty Professionals maximum points in their 22nd week Onetouch league game at the El Wak Stadium.
Liberty had taken a 10th minute lead and seemed almost certain of the three points when Kotoko, unimpressive on the day, found Akwafo leading a counter offensive to lob the Liberty goalie for the much needed equalizer to send their followers on a picnic.
At Tema, two goals from spot proved crucial for Tema Youth who pipped a gritty Berekum Arsenals side by 2:1.
At Sekondi, home boys Hasaacas marked a return to base with a 4:1 walloping of Wa All Stars who raced into a first half lead. David Annan scored twice and his colleagues, Frederic Quaicoo and Isaac Donkor (penalty) added to the tally.
Ashantigold also overcame visiting Real Sportive 3:1 at the Len Clay Stadium, while Kessben FC accounted for Real Tamale United by a lone goal.
Great Olympics held Gamba All Blacks to a barren draw at the Swedru Park.
King Faisal will play Zaytuna FC at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 4 while Hearts of Oak also take on Heart of Lions on the same date at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
The two games were rescheduled to pave way for two international games. Ghana take on Libya in the 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, while the Hawks of Togo engaged the Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday at the Ohene Djan Stadium for the same cause.
