Former Asante Kotoko attacker, Emmanuel Gyamfi has urged the fans of the club to be patient with the head coach of the side, Prosper Narteh Ohum amidst the club's struggle.

Ogum, who was appointed to be part of the Interim Management (IMC) has come under massive pressure and scrutiny due to the uninspiring performances of the side.

Asante Kotoko have recorded just a win in their last seven Premier League games.

The horrendous performance prompted fans to prevent the players and the technical team from holding training at the Adako Jachie on Tuesday.

However, Gyamfi believes Ogum is capable of turning things around at the club.

"Whoever says the coach isn’t good is a liar. I’ve met him before at the local Black Stars camp, I worked with him at Kotoko for a short period before my departure and I know how he likes his team to play. Even after all, he won the league title in his first season with Asante Kotoko," Gyamfi told Ghanasportspage.com.

"His performance was appealing to the football world. That’s why people were clamouring for his second coming to help the club.

"Even though we [Aduana] beat them at Dormaa, their performance on the day showed they meant business, they were up to something so whoever condemns his performance as a coach, I will strongly disagree with that person, it’s rather unfortunate that things haven’t gone the way they wanted it."

Asked whether he would be interested in a possible return to the Baba Yara Stadium, the Aduana forward refused to be drawn into any discussion about his future.

"I can’t expose my contract with Aduana on air but to tell everyone that I am a footballer and whoever comes for me with a good offer and terms, likely, I will join the team," he added.

"I am pleading with the Kotoko fans to exercise patience with the coach and I believe with time all will be well."

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will hope to return to winning ways when they host league leaders, FC Samartex in the Matchday 27 games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
