The Black Princesses has secured their spot in the final match of the African Games women's football tournament with a commanding 3-1 victory over Senegal at the Cape Coast Stadium on Monday evening.

This impressive win ensures Ghana at least a silver medal in the competition, setting the stage for an intense showdown in the final against reigning champions Nigeria, who overcame Uganda to advance.

Taking control early in the semifinal, Ghana, the favourites, asserted dominance as Tracey Twum found the net just past the 19-minute mark. Ophelia Amponsah then extended their lead with another goal, bringing the score to 2-0.

Although Senegal managed to narrow the gap with a penalty kick from Rokhyatou Kande, Ophelia Amponsah's second goal cemented Ghana's 3-1 lead and secured their place in the championship match.

With their sights now set on the ultimate prize in women's football, Ghana is determined to claim victory in the final.

Head coach Yussif Basigi and his team remain committed to fulfilling the pledge they made at the start of the African Games.

The final is set for Thursday, March 21, at the Cape Coast Stadium.
