Ghanaian sprinters Benjamin Azamati and Barnabas Aggerh have secured berths in the final of the men's 100m event at the ongoing African Games.

Joining them in the semifinals was Sarfo Ansah, making it a triumphant trio for Ghana.

Aggerh demonstrated his prowess by clinching second place in semifinal heat 1, clocking in at 10.46s, while Ansah, competing in the same heat, finished fifth.

Azamati showcased his speed as well, securing a final spot by finishing second in semifinal heat 2 with a time of 10.41s. Cameroon's Emmanuel Eseme clinched first place in that race with a time of 10.23s.

Meanwhile, in the women's event, Mary Boakye stands as Ghana's sole finalist, aiming for a podium finish as Hor Halutie and Benedicta Kwartemaa fell short in their pursuits.

The climax of the men's 100m event is set for Tuesday, March 19.
