Match Report: Hamza Issah nets brace to lead Hearts of Oak to hammer RTU 3-0

Hearts of Oak have started the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season on a bright note after cruising past Real Tamale United (RTU) with a 3-0 win.

The Phobians struggled to compete in the first round of the league campaign but are now eager to make amends by fighting to win as many games as possible to challenge for the league title.

On Sunday afternoon, the capital-based club hosted RTU at the Accra Sports Stadium for their Round 18 encounter of the league campaign.

In an exciting game that lasted 90 minutes, Hearts of Oak dominated the contest and managed to score to secure all three points.

The hosts today scored their first in the 17^th minute thanks to an equaliser from youngster Hamza Issah.

The forward in the 39^th minute grabbed his second of the afternoon to complete his brace.

In the process, he handed Hearts of Oak a healthy lead to take into the second half.

After recess, the Phobians continued to dictate the pace of the showdown and put the icing on the cake in the 70^th minute thanks to a strike from midfielder Enoch Asubonteng.

For picking the important three points today, Hearts of Oak have climbed to 9^th on the Ghana Premier League table.

For Real Tamale United, the defeat has seen the team drop to the bottom of the league log.
