Defending Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama Sporting Club have broken into the top four of the league table despite a slow start to the 2023/24 campaign.
The Tarkwa-based club on Thursday, November 9, hosted Nsoatreman FC at Akoon Park.
In a game serving as a Week 5 outstanding game of the new Ghana Premier League season, Medeama SC showed a lot of resilience to cruise to a narrow 1-0 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.
It was all thanks to a penalty kick converted by striker Jonathan Sowah in the 54th minute.
The crucial three points today have lifted Medeama SC to 3rd on the Ghana Premier League table.
The team now has 16 points from 9 games, and just two points behind Aduana Stars, the team that is top of the league table.
Up next for Medeama SC, the team will play against Berekum Chelsea this weekend in a Week 10 contest of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
