CAF Champions league: ‘We’re ready to steal the show’ — Karim Zito, Evans Adotey, pledge to put Ghana on

Head coach of Medeama SC, Evans Adotey, and Dreams FC boss, Karim Zito, have expressed their determination to make an impact as Ghana's representatives in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Both teams have successfully advanced to the group stages of their respective competitions, and they are eager to shine on the continental stage.

Medeama SC finds themselves in Group D of the CAF Champions League, where they will face opponents, including record-winners and defending champions Al Ahly SC, as well as Algerian champions CR Belouizdad. Completing the group is Tanzanian champions, Young Africans SC, who reached the finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in the previous season.

Dreams FC, on the other hand, has been placed in Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup, alongside Tunisian giants Club Africain, former Nigerian champions Rivers United, and fellow debutants Academica do Lobito from Angola.

Evans Adotey and Karim Zito, who have a history of playing together and achieving success as coaches, are focused on making a mark in the group stage of these prestigious competitions.

Adotey expressed their commitment, saying, "Zito and I played together and we have become coaches together. We won the WAFU AFCON. We know each other and what each of us can do.

“We talk and hope to go into the group stages to steal the show, just like Ahly and the other clubs, and are determined to advance to the next round."

The group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup is set to kick off on Sunday, November 26, 2023, and continue through to March 3, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Champions League group stage will commence on Friday, November 25, 2023, and run until Friday, March 1, 2024.
