Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy, is capitalising on a three-week break of the domestic Premiership to begin the process of building a formidable local squad which will serve as the breeding grounds for the senior national team.
Beginning Friday, 50 talented players drawn from some Premier League clubs will assemble at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Secretariat at 10 a.m. for a one-week residential camping in Accra.
The list of players, named by the Frenchman at the first in a series of planned monthly meetings with the media at the FA Secretariat yesterday, include five goalkeepers.
They are George Owu (Ashantigold), Sulemana Abubakar (Hearts), Isaac Akrong (All Blacks), Patrick Antwi (Liberty) and Fatau Dauda (Ashantigold).
Others are Louis Quainoo (Tema Youth), Eric Agyeman (King Faisal), Isaac Vorsah (Kotoko), Daniel Addo (Power FC), Ofosu Appiah (Heart of Lions), Paul Aidoo (Hasaacas), Daniel Ocran (Hasaacas), Samuel Inkoom (Hasaacas), Yahaya Mohammed (Tema Youth) and Bawa Mumuni (Liberty).
Also invited are Yaw Frimpong (Feyenoord), Kojo Asamoah (Liberty), Anthony Baffoe (Ashantigold), Delilu Abdulai (Hasaacas), Daniel Coleman (Hearts) and Alex Djanie (Power FC).
Others are Abraham Annan (Heart of Lions), Ekow Benson (Tema Youth), Kweku Essien (King Faisal), Edmund Owusu Ansah (Kotoko), Wakaso Mubarak (Ashantigold), Hamza Abdulai (Real Sportive), Osei Kwame Jnr (Kotoko), Francis Bossman (Hearts), Akwesi Soale (RTU), Edward Afum (Tema Youth), Emmanuel Clottey (Olympics), Kwabena Yaro (Power FC), Kwame Obeng Darko (Kotoko), Eric Bekoe (Heart of Lions), Rabiu Mohammed (Liberty), Emmanuel Osei Banahene (Lions), Frederick Quayson (Hasaacas)and Moses Andoh (Hearts).
The rest are Francis Aggrey (Arsenal), Samuel Ellis (Hasaacas), Francis Darko (Bofoakwa), David Telfer (Ashantigold), Jonathan Quartey (Ashantigold), Emmanuel Ansong (Olympics), Owusu Addai (Liberty), James Tagoe (Ashantigold), Alfred Arthur (Ashantigold) and Sadat Bukari (Lions).
Also to join the squad is Black Stars left full back, Habib Mohammed, who has been inactive for a couple of months now since returning from a three-month loan spell with a Norwegian club.
According to Coach Le Roy, the select side will train twice daily and also engage in training matches with some selected local teams.
He, however, explained that the team's doors will be open to young talented foreign-based players who perform well in their clubs.
Coach Le Roy, who assumed the reins of the Black Stars last December, selected the players after monitoring the various Premier League clubs in the ongoing championship.
The first phase of the training programme ends next Friday, March 9.
