King Faisal's priceless striker Eric Gawu finally left Accra last Tuesday to Qatar in a latest move that has temporarily put paid to ¢600 million transfer to Accra Heart of Oak.

Both Hearts and King Faisal had conluded negotiations on the transfer deal and the former had agreed to release the first instalment of ¢300million.

However, before the Phobians could make good the amount on Monday the player had landed a windfall with Qatari side, Al Saadi, who were ready to commit almost ¢1billion, $100,000 with Gawu entitled to half of the total amount as inducement fee.

The striker was given a rude shock at the airport when immigration officials prevented him from boarding the Emirates Airlines flight to Qatar on the grounds that he had not been granted permission by his club to fly out of the country.

The officials demanded an authority letter from Faisal, a request that provoked accusations from Faisal officials that the immigration was acting at the behest of Accra Hearts of Oak.

Accra Representative of Faisal, Oduro Sarfo, told the Graphic Sports in an interview that following, protest to the Immigration Headquarters, the club was advised to provide the player with a letter, consenting to the move by the player to Qatar.

He said that the player would be on loan for four months and is expected back in the country in June.

According to him, if Al Saadi decided to off-load the player after the loan, then the player could opt for the club of his choice.
