Accra, Sept 30, GNA - The National Sports Council (NSC) has opened bids for the re-fixing of plastic chairs damaged by fans at the May 9 Stand of the Accra Sports Stadium during the Hearts - Kotoko second round Kinapharma League match.
A statement signed on behalf of the Acting Chief Executive of the NSC, by Mr Charles Aryeh, invites interested companies to submit their quotations to the NSC.
It directed applicants to contact the Estate Officer at Accra Sports Stadium by the close of work on Friday, October 10. It would be recalled that angry fans at the destroyed 240 chairs during a premier league match between Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, which ended one all.
The action of the fans was in protest against an equaliser awarded by referee Essel Walker to Kotoko after Hearts' keeper Eben Dida Armah was viciously fouled in the six-yard box by a Kotoko attacker, sending him into coma for four hours.
